The Camden County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously Tuesday to appoint Joey Yacobacci as County Administrator, making permanent a job he has held on an interim basis since March.

The appointment came during the board's regular meeting on August 4 and took effect immediately.

Yacobacci is no stranger to county government. Over nearly twelve years with Camden County, he has served as Deputy County Administrator, Planning and Development Director, and Building Official and Planner before stepping into the interim administrator role earlier this year.

"Joey is a strong leader with an outstanding record of service to Camden County," Chairman Robbie Cheek said. "We are confident that he will continue to guide our capable staff and collaborate with our community as we move forward."

Yacobacci turned the focus to county staff in his response to the appointment.

"It's my honor to serve on behalf of the Board of Commissioners," he said. "I am grateful for the trust of the Board of Commissioners and for the support of our incredible county staff as we work together for the good of Camden County."

Yacobacci and his wife, Amy, live in Waverly. They are the parents of two children and grandparents to one grandchild.
