Georgia's QR code ballots are sticking around for at least two more years, and counties will soon face a new requirement to hand-recount top races before certifying results, after the state Senate passed sweeping election legislation Saturday.

State senators voted to approve Senate Bill 3EX, which delays a July 1 deadline set two years ago that would have banned the QR codes printed on Georgia ballots. Lawmakers never agreed on a replacement voting system, so the bill pushes the deadline back to 2028 and creates a nine-member committee to design what comes next.
