Former Camden County Sheriff Jim Proctor has been named as a defendant in a newly filed federal lawsuit stemming from a long-running dispute involving former Glynn County Police Chief John Powell and former Glynn County Police official Brian Scott.

The lawsuit alleges a broad conspiracy among several law enforcement officials and prosecutors to target Powell and Scott through criminal investigations and indictments. Among those named in the suit are former Brunswick Judicial Circuit District Attorney Jackie Johnson, former Glynn County Sheriff Neal Jump, and former Camden County Sheriff Jim Proctor.
